Remember this?

One of my 'Above The Landscape' series is at present in an online exhibition at :     ArtisTTable

Of course I didn't win an award BUT, there is still the people's choice to go. If you visit the exhibition, by clicking on the above link, you can select the painting you like.  When it is enlarged, there is a button on the lower left side to vote.

Frivolity Has It's Place

It's no secret that I do like a little fun, even when making art. I tend to save it for less important projects tho'..... like this ATC...

Flamingo Dancer

...or this collage.
A Bird In The Hand

Even in the days when I made pots, much of my work was very 'tongue in cheek'.

Oops!

This doesn't mean that I don't take art seriously, I do.  Just look at the constant mess my studio is in while I'm pursuing my artistic goals.

On the right of the easel are boxes of beads...another relatively frivolous pastime. There are paintings stacked on the floor everywhere, in various stages of completion.

Perhaps it's not really a great illustration of my organised chaos, but I'll take more photos.

Don't know why these seem 'washed out' on the blog...not so in the preview.  Perhaps the god 'Blogger' has had a hissy fit and changed some settings.  Wouldn't be surprised.

On The Easel - Works in Progress

There are always several projects going on at once in my studio.  As well as the more frivolous stuff, I am usually working on larger paintings.

Following are on the easel at present.  Bear in mind that these are UNFINISHED works.

Send In The Clowns - a little more traditional than usual

Spring Hill - a mixed media work.
These will be completed sometime soon....I hope.

Blue ATCs

Art Trading Cards are so addictive.  While waiting for inspiration, paint to dry, or between exhibitions,  I make these small cards, 2 1/2" x 3.5".  Mostly collage, I usually make them for a challenge.  This time it's blue ATCs for ArtChix.

Ouch!

It's all brain mileage.  The photos look a little washed out, perhaps it's my scanner?

BLOGGING - Ups and Downs

There are lots of things I love about blogging.  I love the connection with other artists.  I love to write so it is a good way for me to combine words with my art images....AND it is a wonderful way to get my work 'out there'.

BE NOTICED - collage ATC

LOVE & KISSES - mixed media ATC

BUT..... I'm forever adding to my reading list by following other blogs that I find irresistible.  This means that, due to time constraints I can't always comment, tho' I read most.  The thing that captures me is that first image on the reading list.  Usually, no image no read.

AND... being busy means I sometimes lose track of stuff.  Like the above ATCs that I have marked 'HOLD' for someone.  So, Jean of Out Of Hand, if you are out there please contact me.

I often feel like I'm over-committed as I actually have a creative life outside the computer.  However, when those outside times are slow, the computer is a great boon. I belong to many ATC trading groups, but it is hard to keep track of everything.

Occasionally my love for blogging is rewarded by the acknowledgement of someone whose work I admire greatly.  Like recently, Laura Lein Svencner, a fabulous collage artist, passed on to me the Liebster Award.

This award was designed in the 'pay it forward' fashion. Once you've been nominated, you award it to five of your favourite blogs that have fewer than 200 followers, to encourage new visitors to visit these blogs.
In this spirit here are my five choices of blogs that deserve more recognition, not necessarily in any special order.
An eclectic choice, but all worthy.  I could've added many more.  Hope you visit them and perhaps add them to your reading list.
